Information/ library Management Program (ILM)
Training Overview
An information/library management system relates to a system of managing and controlling the corporate Information and storage areas; Resource/Libraries/Documentation Centers, in a prescribed manner in order to ensure that the necessary, accurate and up-to-date information is available to the relevant people and locations in order to enable quick decision making and comply with regulatory authorities.
Such informational material may include and not limited to; Library books, company policies & procedure manuals, SOPs, Training material/guides, Reference materials (processes, organization structures, job roles and cards, drawings, suppliers’ lists, quality plans among others.
This is a (3 and 5 days, physical and online respectively) program designed for personnel responsible for establishing and managing Information Management systems
Aim of the Program
Equip the personnel responsible for managing Information/ Documentation Centers with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to enable them maintain stable Information management systems
Target Group
Information Officers, Documentations Officers, Librarians, Records Officers, Quality teams, ICT Personnel, Standards & Procedures Officers, Management Representatives among others
Training Objectives
- Provide guidelines for establishing and managing an information/library system
- Understand the regulatory and other applicable requirements for documentation management
- Understand the functions, mission and goals of documentation/informational centers

- Understand the functions, mission and goals of a documentation/ information management system
- Understand the processes of managing controlled documents including those from external sources
- Understand the process of managing electronic documents
- Understand the process of auditing a documentation management system
